Perfect weather and world-class golf courses and facilities make Barbados an ideal location for golfing lessons and tournaments. Several tournaments are hosted throughout the year, such as the World Golf Championships World Cup in December of 2006. Tiger Woods even chose the Sandy Lane golf course as the venue for his wedding!

Polo

Barbados' polo facilities are unrivaled, with excellent facilities and perfect weather. Whether a beginner or advanced player, tournaments, matches and lessons are available to casual and serious players. Barbados has a great selection of polo centres, such as Waterhall, Holders, Clifton and Apes Hill. Horse Racing

The Garrison Savannah is home to Barbados' premier horse-racing track, situated less than two miles from Bridgetown. It has been home to Barbados' horse-racing scene for over 105 years, since colonial days. The track itself is a 6 furlongs (1200 meters) long, and hosts such famous events as the Sandy Lane Gold Cup, held annually on the first Saturday of March, and the Banks Barbados Guineas, in April. Visit www.barbadosturfclub.com for more information on horse-racing in Barbados.

The Kensington Oval

Recently renovated for the 2007 World Cup, the Kensington Oval is situated on the outskirts of Bridgetown and boasts a rich history and fantastic facilities. As the home of many historic cricket matches - the pitch was the first West Indian ground to host an English touring team, in 1895 - the Kensington Oval is still a popular venue for cricketing in the Caribbean.
